One of the most well-known fairy tales ever written, Cinderella will get a 21st century twist from our Learning Theater Ensemble. All your favorite characters are there—sort of. We've got the Evil Stepmother and her daughters, the Handsome Prince (or...is he?), a fairy helper (or two), and adorable animal sidekicks, but in our story, Cinderella has a thing or two to say about her destiny. Told with original music, this student- driven production is sure to bring enchantment. Recommended for ages 4 and up, run time one hour with no intermission, optional Q & A after the performance, free parking.
The Learning Theater Ensemble is a class at Creative Cauldron for students who love to perform! Students help make characters and craft the story, bolstered by professional artists: scenic and costume design from Margie Jervis; original music by Matt Conner and Stephen Gregory Smith; and mentoring by two professional actors, Will Stevenson and E. Augustus Knapp. Ellen Selby and Laura Connors Hull collaborate with students to customize this classic tale. Students then perform the musical in a 15 performance run open to the public and the press.
