    Falls Church McLean Children's Center – Falls Church-McLean Children's Center provides a comprehensive, high quality early childhood program designed to give all young children, regardless of their family's economic resources, a strong foundation on which to build the rest of their lives.   All volunteers must be vaccinated.  If interested in volunteering, please contact Lucy Pelletier, Director at director.fcmlcc@gmail.com.

    Ongoing volunteer needs: 

    • Story tellers -  Read stories to children using props such as flannel board, puppets, drawings or the book itself. 
    • School bus detailing - Wash school bus inside and outside each month.
    • Volunteers with artistic talents - Share talents with children such as gardening, music, arts and crafts.

    One Time volunteer needs: 

    • Power washing services - Power wash playground climbers.
    • Playground shed organization - Organize school shed.

    Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation

    Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation The Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation helps homeless pets find their way into loving homes through rescue and adoption.  Anyone interested in volunteering may contact volunteer@lostdogrescue.org.

    Current and ongoing volunteer needs:  

    Dog Walkers - Walk dogs at Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation's Rescue Care Center. Volunteers are needed daily to get our dogs out to stretch their legs, do their business, and spend some time socializing. Volunteers must have experience with dogs and must be at least 18 years of age.

    Front Desk Greeters - Help our Rescue Care Center run smoothly! Our greeters man our front desk and help our volunteers, staff, fosters, and visitors navigate the Rescue Care Center. Must be prepared to provide a myriad of services in a welcoming, friendly, empathetic and compassionate manner!

    Admin Support - Help our Dogventure, foster, volunteer, marketing, or fundraising team run smoothly! We need help in writing, editing, graphic design, donor management, email and logistics support, training, and any professional skills.

    Medical Care for Children Partnership Foundation - A public/private partnership of the Fairfax County government, the foundation is dedicated to ensuring that all residents have access to care, information, and resources they need to raise healthy families, regardless of circumstance.  Please contact Eva Starrak, Director of Development at estarrak@mccpfoundation.org.

    Ongoing volunteer need: 

    Communications - We need someone to assist with daily social media posts, drafting monthly eNewsletters, updating MCCP's website, maintaining consistent language and tone across all channels.

    Event Specific:

    Annual Gala scheduled for Saturday, October 23, 2021 - We need several volunteers to assist in the day-of execution of MCCP's annual gala. Duties include setting up and tearing down the event, assisting with event registration, being a point of contact for the silent auction, in addition to other duties as assigned that day.

    Shepherd's Center of McLean-Arlington-Falls Church Shepherd's Center of McLean-Arlington-Falls Church

    The Shepherd's Center of McLean-Arlington-Falls Church – The Shepherd’s Center of McLean-Arlington-Falls Church (SCMAFC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer-based, interfaith organization sponsored by area congregations, community groups and businesses to serve older persons in these areas of Northern Virginia. We are an all volunteer organization that helps seniors stay in their own home and live independently as long as possible. We drive our clients to local doctor’s appointments, grocery stores and other essential places. Last year we drove over 2500 one-way rides.

    Ongoing volunteer need:  

    Drivers -  Can you help? The Shepherd’s Center has NO regular time commitment. You can decide when, where and how much you drive.  We’d love to talk to you in more detail about the work we do and what’s involved in being a volunteer.     VHC Medical Brigade – Providing humanitarian aide to the Comayagua region and adjacent areas of Honduras, we preventative health education in rural areas to clinical training and direct services.
