Grace Christian Academy - Grace Christian Academy (GCA) is a very special treasure here in Falls Church, Virginia.  Founded by Grace Lutheran Church that has nearly 900 members, GCA serves an extraordinarily diverse population that includes African American, Asian, and Hispanic minorities who comprise over 50% of its student body.  Nearly 40% of our scholars receive financial aid due to economic need.  Over 16% of our school families are active military.

Current volunteer need:  On September 7th, we are hosting our fourth annual Truck & Toss fundraiser here in Falls Church.  The event will feature food trucks, beer tasting, a craft market, children’s activities, and our Cornhole for a Cause Tournament.  We expect about 300 people to attend most of which reside in the Falls Church/Arlington/Annandale area. All proceeds benefit our tuition assistance program.

Running an event of this size requires a lot of volunteers and we are looking to the local business community for assistance. Perhaps you are looking for a fun public service project for your staff. Volunteer duties involve setting up for the festival, checking in guests, serving beer, selling raffle tickets, managing the cornhole tournament, and event take-down. All volunteers receive a free Truck & Toss tee shirt and two tickets each good for a generous sample from one of the  food trucks on site.

Volunteer sign up is available online at: www.truckandtoss.com, or you can contact Julie Crain at 703-534-5517 or jcrain@graceva.org.
