Runner Registration is $30 for 5K and $15 for 1K until Aug. 1; then $35 for 5K and $20 for 1K until online registration closes at 10 pm on Friday, Sept. 21; Packet Pick Up and Race Day Registration: $40 for 5K and $25 for 1K. Packet Pick Up is at the Children's Center, 10 am to 2 pm., Sat., Sept. 22. Race Day Registration opens at 7:15 am on Sunday, Sept. 23 on the field behind the Children's Center.

Description
The Teddy Bear 5K course takes runners on a shaded path through three parks in Pimmit Hills neighborhood, just west of Falls Church City. Runners are invited to park at the Children's Center, convene on the field behind Lemon Road Elementary School/Children Center at 7230 Idylwood Road, Falls Church, VA 22043. At 7:45, Honey the Bear mascot will lead runners to the starting point, Pimmit Hills Park, one block west of the school. The race begins at 8 a.m. Runners 6-86 are welcome. There is a stroller division for parents.
The 1K will follow award presentation at 9:15 a.m. on the Children's Center field to a flat path.
All runners receive a teddy bear when they cross the finish line!
Businesses looking to show their support of local education are invited to become sponsors of the Sixth Annual Teddy Bear 5K & 1K Walk/Run before Sept. 4, the deadline for having their logos on runner T-Shirts. The event that attracts 300 runners from across the metro area will be Sunday, Sept. 23, this year in the morning, starting at 8 a.m. for the 5K and 9:15 a.m. for the 1K. Proceeds support Falls Church-McLean Children's Center, the high-quality preschool that is celebrating its 50th anniversary of guiding children from low- and moderate-income, working families to build their skills to be ready to succeed in school.
